Information and Communication Technology

At Taranganba we aim to embed the use of ICTs into all classrooms so that the devices themselves are part of everyday learning and experiences. Taranganba is a leader in the use of ICT in the curriculum.

To support our commitment to 21st century learning we have:

  • A computer lab in The Hub with enough computers for every child to have access.
  • An early year’s computer lab in the library.
  • Computers in every classroom and laser printers in every block.  These computers are used in literacy and numeracy activities.  All computers are updated regularly.
  • Digital cameras in all classrooms to support classroom learning and video cameras and banks of digital cameras which can be arranged for loan.
  • Personal laptop computers for every teacher for curriculum and administrative use at home and school.
  • School webpage administered by school staff.
  • Large rear projection data projector and sound system for use at assemblies and musical in our Performing Arts center
  • Interactive Whiteboards in every classroom.
  • A Computer technician who administers the network.
  • Banks of iPads and iPods for classroom use to support literacy and numeracy.
  • The Hub

The Hub was built through the Federal government's 'Building the Education Revolution' initiative and was opened in 2012.
