Taranganba State School, situated on Taranganba Road in the coastal township of Yeppoon is on the Capricorn Coast in Central Queensland. Yeppoon is in the Rockhampton Regional Council and is part of the Fitzroy-Central West Queensland Region of Education Queensland. Taranganba State School is proud to be one of the nine schools in the Capricorn Coast Cluster.
From our opening in 1992 with a population of less than 300 students, we have now grown and are one of the largest primary schools on the Capricorn Coast. We currently have 675 students from Prep to Year 6 housed in 31 classrooms.
The school now boasts a number of facilities including an innovative digital teaching and learning centre – The Hub, along with a Performing Arts Centre. These facilities have allowed the school to enrich the curriculum and learning opportunities for our students.
The Taranganba school staff is committed to working in partnership with parents and the wider community to meet the needs of all of our students.
Engagement teachers work with classroom teachers to support inclusive practices across the school working in classrooms with children and teachers.
Specialist teaching staff provide Health and Physical Education, Music, Visual Arts and Wellbeing lessons. Instrumental music is offered to children from Year 3 for Strings and Year 4 Percussion, Woodwind and Brass.
Students are offered extracurricular opportunities to participate in sport, cultural, music and academic pursuits during the course of the year.
