The Arts Program
At Taranganba we offer opportunities and excellence in a number of areas across the school but at Taranganba the Performing Arts program takes centre stage. Taranganba State School Concert Band is the number one primary school instrumental group within the central region for fanfare 2002, 2004, 2008, 2010 and 2012. Fanfare is a biannual state wide instrumental festival of bands orchestras throughout Queensland and showcases the exciting musical talents occurring within our state schools across the state.
At Taranganba we have strong and committed Performing Arts staff that develops the required skills for students to take out numerous instrumental and music accolades throughout Central Queensland.
Taranganba has a junior and senior concert band, junior & senior string ensemble as well as a group called 'The Animals' a committed group of percussionists that make rhythm and sounds sound simply amazing. Recorder consorts, ukulele groups and school choirs make up a full range of talents that are offered through the schools performing arts program.
Throughout the year, Eisteddfods, Solo festivals, community performances, Fanfare, Combined School Concerts and school performance assist the various groups to display their talents to the community.
Annually, the school highlights theatrical talents of our students by hosting a school musical in term two/three, performing to sell-out audiences in their newly refurbished hall facilities at the school.
Early term four enables students to display their visual arts talents with an exhibition of student paintings and drawings that are housed in a public gallery. This annual event displays the talents of students from years prep to six.
